Semi-annual Goods and Services Auction

One of the most fun, entertaining, stimulating, educational, cultural, recreational, enlightening, and friendly things to do at OCUUC is to either offer an auction item, purchase an auction item, or both.

The auction accomplishes several very important objectives in the life of the church:

  • It initiates and integrates newcomers into the social life of the church community.
  • It provides people with an opportunity to give something of themselves for the benefit of others.
  • It widens our perspectives of ourselves, our church community, and the outside community.
  • It contributes significantly to the financial well being of the church.
  • It establishes bonds or strengthens existing bonds amoung the people in our church community.
  • It highlights and demonstrates the diversity of interests, tastes, and talents within our congregation.

We have two auctions each year; one in the spring and one in the fall. That way, newcomers (or people who miss out on one auction) don't have to wait a whole year to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to fill their social calendar or buy or sell a valuable service or tasty homemade specialty.

We invite you to participate by offering or purchasing one or more auction items (or doing both) at the next auction. If you can't attend to bid on items of interest, ask someone who can attend to bid for you. Some of the items that have been offered in the past include:

Poker Parties · Sailing · Mississippi Catfish Fry · Indo-Pakistani Dinner · Butterfly Garden Tour · Trip to Critter Country Alpacas · Visit to Huntington Library and Gardens · Vegan Dinner and Movie · South American Foods and Spanish Language Conversation ·Picnic and Concert in the Park · Rocky Horror Picture Show Party · Foot Reflexology Workshop · Semi-Pro Baseball Game · Kodo Drummers and Picnic Supper on the Lawn · Labor Day Pool Party · Dance and Dessert · Salmon Dinner · Golf Tournament · Downtown Disney and a Night at the Disneyland Hotel · Santa Ana Artists Village: Browse and Dessert · Visit to Japanese Garden · Croquet Party and Supper · Victorian Christmas Harp Concert · Four Hours of Handyman Services
